- Bio: Hello! I am a first year MPA student at SIPA concentrating in urban policy and specializing in East Asia. I was born and raised in Oregon. My husband is also a SIPA MPA student and we have a dog together. =) My higher education experience has been a bit non-traditional. After I graduated high school, I (traditionally) started at Oregon State University to get a 4-year degree. After two semesters, I left due to personal reasons, and attended a community college for a semester before enlisting in the army. During my nearly eight years in the military, I accrued credits from three different community colleges, two from army training-to-credits programs and one to build up my core curriculum before transferring to a 4-year university when I got out of the army. I finished my BBA at Pace University-NYC in two years (thanks to a generous military experience/credit transfer program), graduating in the spring of 2016, before starting at SIPA! And if anyone is wondering... yes, it was a huge pain sending six different college transcripts for grad school applications. And security clearances are also a pain to fill out, haha.
