A digital humanities project spearheaded by Daniel Leisawitz (Muhlenberg College) has led to the in-progress Orlando Furioso Atlas, featuring a digitized text of the poem linked to an interactive map (Waldseemüller’s 1507 Universalis Cosmographia) on which are plotted the journeys of dozens of characters. According to Leisawitz, the site is designed to explore and analyze the modalities, patterns, and characteristics of travel in the Orlando Furioso and will eventually include extensive bibliographies and content from users across the globe.
