    • META-Project Launch: Resources for Chinese Bilingual Educators, with Annie Han, Christy Lao & Patricia Martinez-Alvarez, Friday, 12/15, 4:30-6pmPlease join us on Friday, December 15th for the launch of the Bilingual/Bicultural Program's META Project."The purpose of this platform is for current and future Chinese bilingual teachers to exchange their insights, share the instructional materials, and mobilize new knowledge in practices via the venues of Curriculum Talk through collaborative conversations. META is a great virtual place for glocalized Chinese bilingual educators to generate transformative ideas collectively for their teaching by grades and by subjects in Mandarin Dual Language Programs. We hope to serve as a creative thinking hub to synergize the efforts of a broader innovative audience here in New York City Department of Education (NYCDOE) public schools and with our TC BBE alums nationally and internationally."
      -- META Project launch statementGuest speakers include: Dr. Annie Han, Department of Mathematics, Borough of Manhattan Community College, City University of New York, and Adjunct Professor of Education in Bilingual-Bicultural Education at Teachers College, Columbia University; Dr. Christy Lao, Associate Professor of Education, San Francisco State University (joining virtually); and Dr. Patricia Martinez-Alvarez, Assistant Professor of Bilingual Education, Teachers College, Columbia University. The guest panel will be moderated by Dr. Sharon Chang, Lecturer, Bilingual and Bicultural Education, Teachers College, Columbia University. Applications and activities will be led by BBE Alum and Contributors of META.This project is funded by the Provost's Investment Fund, and this event is co-sponsored by the Bilingual and Bicultural Education Program at Teachers College and is open primarily to current members and BBE alumni.Please rsvp directly to bilingual-bicultural@tc.edu with your interest and details by Wednesday, December 13th.
