Here is a brochure with more information about the internship, which is a week long immersion internship at Yu Ying in March during the TC spring break.
With this internship, future teachers will develop the key skill sets for what is needed to teach within a unique and challenging environment of language immersion schools through the following:
- Observing an immersion classroom
- Participating in grade level planning meetings
- Attending workshops with curriculum experts on language learning, inquiry based teaching, special education, classroom management and creating supportive learning environments
- Receiving 1:1 career counseling with HR on resume and portfolio building and interview skills
- Expanding knowledge in language learning by participating in language group discussions.
- Receiving the opportunity to apply for the Chinese Teaching Fellow program for SY18-19
This internship is open to graduates within their last year of school who will graduate in the spring or summer of 2018. Each participant may have the option of being hosted by a local DC family.
