Legal Notice

By submitting to STORRI, I hereby grant permission to Teachers College, Columbia University (“Teachers College”) and the Trustees of Columbia University in the City of New York (“Columbia University”), and their respective faculty, students and staff to use the above-described materials (the “Work”) on the following terms:
 
1. This permission to Teachers College and Columbia includes the following:
(a) my permission to make digital copies of the Works and to make the copies available, primarily for education and research purposes, to students, faculty, and other users; and
 
(b) my permission to incorporate the Works into the projects of Teachers College and Columbia University, and to use those projects, with the Works included, in a manner consistent with the general practices of Teachers College and Columbia University. 
 
I understand this permission allows Teachers College and Columbia University to make the Works, and projects that include some or all of the Works, available to the public by means of the Internet or by any method and in any media, whether now existing or later created.  My permission is a nonexclusive, irrevocable, royalty-free license.
 
 
2. Rights. 
(a) I represent and warrant that, to the best of my knowledge, I hold copyright in the Works, and have all necessary rights to grant this permission to Teachers College and Columbia University (this includes the rights to any images and sound recordings incorporated in the Work). 
 
Because I am giving a nonexclusive permission, this permission alone does not prevent me from entering into similar arrangements with other parties or from otherwise exploiting the Works or exercising any rights that I may have in the Works.  However, I understand that I may need to inform subsequent publishers and others that I have granted this preexisting permission to use the Works. 
 
(b) Teachers College and Columbia University are committed to responsible attribution of sources and respect for copyright law.  If I have included in the Works any content from any other source, I also have included appropriate citations, or I have informed Teachers College and Columbia University of any significant uses of content not cited.
 
Teachers College and Columbia University reserves the right to add citations, to evaluate whether the use of content is lawful or otherwise appropriate, and to use the Works only as Teachers College and Columbia University deems appropriate.
 
EXPLANATION: Basically by signing, you’re granting Teachers College and Columbia University the right to use your Work for education and research purposes, but in ways that do not restrict your future use. You will not be paid by Teachers College or Columbia University for your Work. You also indicate that the Work is yours to share and that any portion of the Work that is from other sources is properly attributed and cited. Teachers College and Columbia University will decide if the Work is appropriate for use.
