Category: Normal Distribution/ Bell Curve

A normal distribution occurs when variables (i.e., test scores) plotted on a graph fall into a regular distribution around a single mean. It is also called the bell curve. In a normal distribution, about 68% of the scores fall within one standard deviation of the mean (34% on either side) and 96% of the scores will fall within 2 standard deviations of the mean (48% on either side).
