How the speech organs (tongue, lips, jaw, etc.) interact with one another to produce speech sounds. The term generally includes how and when sound is generated and where articulators (speech organs) make contact. Other parameters include nasalization, trills of speech organs and stricture of the vocal tract which causes changes in resonance.
