This module presents the last three of the nine critical questions. These questions focus on examples that parents can provide to give the examiner more insight into the child, to understand what parents and teachers see versus what the examiner might see in one session. These include asking for examples of their highest level of speech and language and ways the caregiver knows their child is smart. Cate also reminds the clinician to ask if there has been any progress or regression in the last 6 months. Since months can elapse from the time the child is referred to the time the evaluation is completed, often concerns have resolved themselves. If the child has regressed, this raises a red flag for the evaluator to investigate further. In addition, good examples from the caregiver interview can provide a basis for thorough and useful holograms in the evaluations.
