The first section of the second class reviews the process of the clinical evaluation of cleft palate. This includes a physical exam, parent interview and examination of voice quality and resonance. Finally, the speech sound inventory is analyzed such as which sounds are produced correctly or incorrectly and which sounds are easily corrected with explanation (i.e. sounds that are stimulable).
