The CTL offers Teaching Observations with trained consultants who can help you think through your course goals, your teaching observation experience, and your future teaching. CTL Teaching Observations are confidential and evidence-based, developed to support instructors in their teaching practices.

Office Hours and Consultations
Join us for office hours via Zoom (or phone) Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm to have your teaching with instructional technology questions answered. Schedule an in-person or virtual consultation to discuss any teaching and learning need by emailing ctlfaculty@columbia.edu or the CTL Learning Designer assigned to your school or department.
Resources
Early and Mid-Semester Student Feedback: The CTL recommends capturing student feedback at various points within the semester, including mid-term. The goal is a dialogue about students’ learning. This resource outlines two approaches for collecting feedback from your students: the start, stop, continue method and a question bank for gathering feedback from students.
Feedback for Learning: Feedback and revision are important parts of any learning experience. From in-class activities and assignments, to peer-reviewed manuscripts, feedback is essential for growth and learning. This resource offers strategies to make giving feedback easier and more effective.
