Nigel is a Learning Designer at the CTL. He primarily works with the School of Nursing and with several departments of the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. Nigel has a background in psychology, instructional design, and STEM education. He is passionate about diversifying the ways people participate in learning in efforts to make the world a more equitable and sustainable place.

Prior to joining CTL, Nigel taught 6-12th grade classes at Academics West, a therapy school for students with severe learning disabilities. He earned a M.A. in Instructional Technology and Media from Teachers College where he currently teaches Object Oriented Theory and Programming. He previously earned a B.S. in Psychobiology from UCLA and worked in a behavioral neuroscience laboratory. During his time in Los Angeles, Nigel developed an expanded learning opportunities program for STEM education with the Boys and Girls Club of Santa Monica. Throughout Nigel’s career history he has also tutored middle school and high school students in various subjects including: biology, chemistry, psychology, French, computer science, essay writing and 6-12th grade mathematics.

In his leisure time, Nigel designs learning technologies and further develops his social enterprises. He also enjoys fitness, dance classes, martial arts class, storytelling competitions and getting involved in community affairs.
